So I’m not-live blogging it as it reairs. The blog server was down for the first 20 minutes of the episode so now that it’s back up here are some thoughts thus far:Is it me or is there something creepy about 4 grown male chefs trying to “please” (in the words of Kelly Choi) Girl Scouts with sugary treats?Hubert Keller looks charming and French with his hair in a ponytail but like a crazy caveman with his hair down. Michael Schlow is doing peanut butter chocolates. You don’t see those on the Radius menu. EDIT: Yes you do! Says Schlow on a Bravo blog: “My inspiration was simple.

And then it ends up going over the airwaves on sport talk radio. And because NBDY is taking direct responsibility for the story everyone gets to pass on the interesting piece of gossip without any repercussions. And thus we get to the problem with blogs the utter lack of accountability. First the writers of these stories create them without any verification then the more mainstream media runs with these “stories” giving them extra credence that they do not deserve. Worse they often run with tiny snippets of the whole post picking out the most controversial statement in order to gain the most amount of attention. And perhaps worst of all they are happy to then discredit these rumors because it proves the superiority of “traditional” journalism. And here’s my point: the reason this story got to this point is because everyone – from the first guy who wrote to the second guy who ran with it to the third guy who linked it to the fourth guy who broadcast it – all of these people did a really crummy job on this.
