ctogenarian blogs with the best of them

I have heard that if you nod off they shoot you with the Taser gun. "The Internet of course is swimming with accounts of people’s personal foibles. That is nothing new in the Age of the Blog — short for Web log — when you can sit in Yakima and read would-be writers from around the world describe their daily routines. The thing is very few of them are well-written and even fewer are written by octogenarians. So Lemaster kind of has a niche there. "I get a lot of strange kind of looks when I tell people my grandma has a blog" said Cora Huffman of Moxee Lemaster’s 31-year-old granddaughter. Internet use by seniors is on the rise according to the Pew Internet and American Life Project which released surveys on the subject in 2000 and 2004.

Mashable CA
What then of blogs? At Mashable we happen to think blogs served a vital role in social media news coverage and analysis in 2008. No they didn’t. Though seemingly at odds with the increasingly short attention spans of the web’s early adopters blogs continue to serve a crucial role: to inform us to entertain us and to let us communicate our view of the world. Blogger Promote Thyself!Help us prove the case for blogging in 2009: post a link to your best blog post of 2008 in the comment section below for our staff and readers to enjoy and explain to us why it’s worth the click.

it is MY blog after all…
SportingNews.com
It is with dismay that this seasoned blogger here at the Sporting News reads about fellow writers going missing. Declaring there exodus with pride and even preying on our dark side with their degrading references to this site and its apparent lack of substance. We are to believe our blogging environment no longer offers the insight interest level and the most insulting to me any degree of relevant substance unprofessional I believe the latest slur to be. Many have left graciously some have stuttered their departure fluttering back and forth unsure. Given their contributions over their stays they all deserve to be granted their leave. Although I for one am sick and tired of hearing about how this site is lacking! Leave if you must but don’t piss in my ear about your reasons! The bloggers that are staying and the new members we are gaining will continue on unfazed by your misgivings! It may well be there are flaws here. Lord knows I ride my high horse on occasion.

For Bollywood 2008 was also a year of blogging

While Aamir Khan was the first star to use this medium to stay connected with his fans Amitabh Bachchan too was bitten by the blog bug early this year with others like Karan Johar Ram Gopal Varma Salman Khan Shilpa Shetty Celina Jaitley and Emraan Hashmi soon joining the blogging bandwagon. Fans could not have asked for more as they went frenzy after being updated of every small detail about their idols – be that some very mundane postings or even mud slinging at colleagues. The webspace was used by Aamir to take a dig at Amitabh and Shah Rukh while the Big B also found it a good place to come back hard on his critics. The Mumbai terror attacks led to a number of postings by these bloggers who left no stone unturned to have their slice of the publicity pie.
