Some of the women they’ve never met but they count them as close friends. “Blogging is different. You become friends with people you wouldn’t necessarily have the opportunity to meet” said Sara Maier who is originally from the Southeast Valley but now lives in Flagstaff. A mom approached Maier when she was dropping off one of her boys at preschool and told her she spent an hour reading through Maier’s blog and felt like her best friend. “She said ‘I feel like I know you now’” Maier said. “It’s neat that you totally get to know somebody in a way you normally wouldn’t. Blogging has become more mainstream in the last 18 months and mom bloggers have begun to make an impact on larger aspects of society like corporate branding said Todd Defren with Shift Communications.

The study actually shows that 46% of women would rather go without sex for two weeks than give up the Internet for that long. The numbers are larger in certain age groups of women with 49% of women 18 to 34 saying Internet is better than sex and 53% of women 35 to 44. Only 30% of guys on the other hand according to the survey would give up sex for two weeks rather than the Internet.
